  Jonava district Barupe School is located in Kuigaliai village in the middle of Lithuania. Kuigaliai is not far (18 km) from administration centre Jonava, and it is 46 km from Kaunas, the second biggest city in Lithuania....It has a population of 355. The first primary school in Kuigaliai was founded in 1923. The doors Barupe School opened in 1988.

Our school is the education, culture and sports centre in our village ant its purpose is to ensure the quality of pre-school, pre-primary, primary and basic education. Due to problematic social background of the pupils our mission is to encourage student`s self-confidence, academically thinking, effective use of modern technology as well as to raise the awareness of their own capabilities and to be a part of lifelong education. There are 88 pupils between the ages of 1-16 (including pupils with special needs – 10) in our school. Our teaching staff has 26 members, including teacher of special needs, speech therapy teacher, social teacher, and librarian.

Our school community offers a wide variety of clubs and extra-curricular activities for our students, where students can achieve their individual goals. Students are involved in sports, art, crafts and music activities. By participating in these activities, pupils are taught active, meaningful and communal life. They learn to trust themselves; furthermore, they develop their communicational and cooperational skills.  Our school is very active in different national and local ecological, historical, sports and health projects. Furthermore, we are proud of our students` achievements in competitions.
